Message from the Chair

Like all exceptional communities, Halton’s strength lies in our diversity, combined with a desire to unite for a greater purpose. Over time and with the willingness and dedication of residents, community partners, business owners, and faith leaders, together we have created a place that we can all be proud to safely live, work,  raise a family and retire.

The best way to build on this shared success with the goal of continuously evolving our region is to ensure that all corners of the Halton community are represented at all levels – and public safety is no exception.

As the Chair of the Halton Police Board, I and my six Board colleagues are entrusted with establishing the long-term safety and security of Halton by ensuring the Halton Regional Police Service delivers adequate and effective policing in accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act, is effective and accountable; represents the public interest; and adheres to the objectives outlined in the Board’s 2024-2027 Strategic Plan.

Grounded in community survey responses and input, this results-based strategy is our roadmap that will guide us now and in the future, protecting Halton from harm, and proudly upholding it as the safest large municipality in Canada.

I encourage you to read the Strategic Plan, and stay connected to your police service, led by an extraordinary team of people – sworn and civilian alike – many of whom I have had the pleasure to know, and who I can attest are each committed to faithfully serving you.

On behalf of myself and the entire Halton Police Board, thank you for being a valuable part of our shared success.

Chair Jeff Knoll
