Halton Hills Shooting Investigation

Update (August 5th):

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is requesting public assistance following a shooting investigation in Halton Hills.

On August 4, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the area of 8th Line and #5 Side Road following a report of shots being fired.

Officers responded and investigation determined multiple shots were fired at the residence and vehicles in the driveway. The home was occupied at the time of the shooting; however, no physical injuries were reported.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no known threat to public safety.

A vehicle was seen fleeing the area at the time of the shooting and investigators are asking anyone with information on this investigation, or anyone who may have security or dash cam video from the area of 8th line, #10 and #5 Side Roads, between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2416.

Eighth Line Closed in Georgetown - Police Activity

Eighth Line between No.5 and No.10 Side Roads in Georgetown (Town of Halton Hills) is closed to all traffic while police investigate criminal activity in the area.

Officers are actively working the scene and local residents and passing motorists are advised to stay away from the area.

There is no threat to the public.

It is anticipated that this section of roadway will be closed for a couple of hours.
