Major Residential Natural Gas Leak in Milton

Halton Regional Police are currently on the scene of a major residential natural gas leak in the area of Regional Road 25 and Louis St. Laurent Avenue in the Town of Milton.

At around 7:45pm this evening Police, Milton Fire Dept. and Milton Hydro responded to a request for assistance from Enbridge Gas to a home on Bartleman Terrace.  Gas workers had originally responded to an odour of gas but quickly determined there was an apparent major gas leak within the home.

Emergency and utility crews are currently engaged in a methodical staged response to this incident.  There is no estimation as to how long it will take to resolve the situation.  Area homes have been evacuated as a precaution and transit buses are being used to temporarily shelter affected residents.
