From May 4th to May 7th there have been four credit card thefts targeting elderly females at retail stores in the parking lot. The victim's are distracted and their credit cards are stolen from their purses.
On Jan 23 2020, a wallet was stolen from the complainant at the Toronto Premium Outlet Mall at 13850 Steeles Avenue in the Town of Milton. Credit cards from the wallet was then used at various locations including Starbucks in the Toronto Premium Outlets and 2 other locations in Guelph (Cyber Computer Shop at 292 Stone Road West Guelph and Best Buy at 151 Stone Road West Guelph).
On February 22, 2020, the victim lost her wallet in Burlington. The suspect located the wallet and made several purchases with her financial card along Fairview Street in Burlington.
In December 2019, the suspect befriended the victim who suffers from an acquired brain injury. The suspect convinced the victim to withdraw a total of $1,900.
On October 26, 2019, two male suspects attended the Food Basics located at 5353 Lakeshore Road Burlington. It is believed that they used a fraudulent credit card to purchase multiple Gift Cards totaling over $3,000.
On 25 November, 2019, two unknown male suspects attended the Sunglass Hut located at 240 Leighland Avenue (inside the Hudson's Bay) and stole 59 pairs of sunglasses with a total value of $20,610.00.
