The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested and charged a security guard with multiple charges related to a quarantine compliance check in Oakville.

On February 23, 2021 at approximately 10:50 am, the Halton Regional Police Service received a call from a male stating he had shot and killed someone at an address in the area of Maple Avenue and Thompson Rd. N. in Milton. Chris Hadfield Public School and St. Peter Catholic Elementary School were placed in a precautionary Hold and Secure due to their proximity to the alleged incident.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) would like warn residents about a scam that is occurring in the region. The victim will receive a phone call from an unknown number where the caller claims to be from the Canada Revenue Agency, and advises the victim they owe money. The victim may also receive a phone call from 905-825-4777 (the telephone number assigned to the HRPS). The caller will claim to be a police officer and advise the victim there is a warrant...
