The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest in relation to a shooting in Burlington.
On December 5, 2022, at approximately 8:40 am, two suspects forced their way into a condo unit in the area of Dundas Street and Sutton Drive in Burlington. Police Warn of Increase in Emergency (Grandparent) Scams

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) would like to warn residents of persistent and increasing “emergency scams” occurring across Halton. For reference, between the dates of September 26 and October 3, 2022, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre received 42 emergency scam reports where losses totaled over $520,000. Of the 42 reports, 22 were from Ontario and losses totaled over $115,000. These scams have often been targeting older adults.

As the youth of Halton region prepare to head back to school, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is once again getting ready to launch Project Safe Start.
This will be the 15th year the HRPS has conducted this homegrown campaign, which focuses on education, awareness and high-visibility enforcement of traffic laws throughout Halton region. Project Safe Start 2022 will run between Monday, August 29 and Friday, September 9, 2022.
