On May 31, 2022, at 2:30 pm, the Halton Regional Police Service received reports of a male with a firearm at the South Campus of White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville. At the time of the report, it was not known if the weapon was real or a replica.
White Oaks Secondary School was placed on Lockdown and nearby schools were placed in Hold and Secures.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is pleased to announce it has been awarded funding to expand its Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Teams through the Ministry of the Solicitor General’s (the Ministry) Mobile Crisis Response Teams Enhancement Grant.
The HRPS is among 28 Police Services that have received grant funding through the Ministry to increase their existing capacity to respond to mental health crisis calls.

This year, Halton Regional Police Service officers have already responded to 150 suspected overdoses involving either illicit substances, prescription drugs and/or over-the-counter medications. Of those, 18 people did not survive. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is pleased to announce it has been awarded $1.2 million in funding through the Ministry of the Solicitor General’s Community Safety and Policing Grant.
