HRPS Dismantles GTA Auto Theft Network

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Organized Crime Unit has concluded a lengthy investigation into an organized auto theft network operating in the GTA.
The investigation, titled Project Credit determined the accused were operating a sophisticated car theft network and operating a “chop shop,” dismantling stolen vehicles for parts, re-vinning vehicles, and committing insurance fraud.

At approximately 4:40am on September 14, 2025, Halton Regional Police Service was notified of a serious collision on Trafalgar Rd south of Britannia Rd. A white Yamaha motorcycle was travelling northbound and collided with the rear of a blue Mazda sedan. The male rider of the motorcycle suffered a broken leg as a result of this collision. On September 14, 2025 at approximately 8:52am a blue Yamaha motorcycle was travelling northbound on Trafalgar Rd in the Town of Oakville. As the motorcycle was travelling through the intersection at Burnhamthorpe Rd E, it collided with a black Acura RDX that was making a left turn from Trafalgar Rd onto Burnhamthorpe Rd E. At approximately 10:35pm on September 4th 2025, the Halton Regional Police Service was notified of a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Dundas Street East and Sixth Line in the Town of Oakville. The initial investigation indicates that a Honda minivan driven by a 52 year old Oakville man was westbound on Dundas Street East before it attempted to make a left turn to go south onto Sixth Line. On August 21, 2025 at approximately 2:40pm a red Honda SUV was travelling westbound on 25 Sideroad in the Town of Milton. A grey Mazda hatchback was travelling southbound on Sixth Nass Line. A collision occurred between the two vehicles within the intersection. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Mazda was transported to an out of region trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
