The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has confirmed the identity of the male victim killed on the evening of April 29, 2025 in Burlington.
55-year-old Oakville resident Craig McIlquham, also known as Craig Brown, was shot in the parking lot of the Mandarin Restaurant located at 1881 Fairview Street.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) are warning the public of an increase in the “bank investigator” fraud scam that has been occurring throughout the Region.
Since the beginning of 2025 HRPS have received 43 reports involving this type of scam which has resulted in the combined loss of approximately $522,000.
Investigators would like to provide educational information on how the scam is undertaken along with tips on how to protect yourself from opportunistic fraudsters.

Suspicious Death Investigation in Oakville

Update:
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has classified the suspicious death of a man found on March 22, 2025, in Oakville as a homicide.
The victim, 43-year-old Baljeet ‘Bally’ Toki of Oakville (pictured below), was located inside Montagio Custom Tailoring on Lakeshore Road.
There is no known threat to public safety.
