The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) today announced that Halton region had the lowest Overall Crime Severity Index (CSI)* when compared to Ontario’s ‘Big 12’ jurisdictions, according to Statistics Canada’s annual report on crime in Canada. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid multiple charges following a six month human trafficking investigation.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is continuing to receive reports of the “bank investigator” scam occurring throughout Halton Region.
Since the beginning of 2025 HRPS have received 53 reports involving this type of scam which has resulted in the combined loss of over 1 Million dollars.
