Additional suspects charged, additional charges laid following shooting in Milton

The Halton Regional Police Service has identified additional suspects following a shooting in Milton earlier this month that left one male with life-altering injuries. Additional charges have also been laid against previously identified suspects involved in that incident.

Five persons are known to have participated in the events leading up to the exchange of gunfire that took place on February 1, 2019 in a parking lot at Maple Avenue and Main Street East in Milton. All five suspects have been identified and charged accordingly. No suspects are outstanding.

Jaiden ALEXIS-MCLYMONT (26) of no fixed address has been charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Discharge Firearm with Intent
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)
  • Possession of Firearm, Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

Brenden ANDERSON-WILSON (31) of Milton has been charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Discharge Firearm with Intent
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking
  • Possession of Firearm, Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

Charges have now been laid against one suspect who was previously identified as an involved party.

Quinn SMITH-CARR (22) of Markham has been charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (2 counts)
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

Kyrie Lansford MCKAY (28) of Milton, previously charged in relation to this incident, now faces an additional charge:

  • Discharge Firearm with Intent

The Halton Regional Police Service is extremely grateful to those members of the public who stepped forward to provide dozens of vital tips since our appeal of February 1, 2019,” said Deputy Chief Nishan Duraiappah. “In particular, the video footage submitted to our investigators played a key role in how quickly we were able to identify and arrest all five involved parties. This is clear evidence that our residents share our commitment to community safety and well-being.

It should be noted that while no further suspects are being sought in relation to this incident, two firearms used in the altercation remain outstanding and the investigation continues. Two suspects arrested following shooting in Milton; ongoing appeal for information

The Halton Regional Police Service has arrested two suspects following a shooting in Milton on February 1, 2019 that left one male victim with life-altering injuries.

Kyrie Lansford MCKAY (28) of Milton has been charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Aekwon Stailuv MURRAY (22) of Toronto has been charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (2 counts)
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon (2 counts)

A 9mm handgun and a .40 caliber handgun were recovered at the scene shortly after the shooting.

Two vehicles involved in the shooting have also been recovered.

It is believed that all parties involved in this incident are known to each other.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and we anticipate additional charges being laid.

Request for Public Assistance Following a Shooting in Milton

Just before 3:00pm on February 1, 2019, Halton Regional Police Service uniform officers, Tactical Rescue Unit and Canine Unit responded to several reports of shots being fired in the vicinity of Maple Avenue and Main Street East in Milton.

On arrival, police located one male victim, in his 20s, who was transported to hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

A responsible party has yet to be identified, and the investigation is ongoing.

There is no known, ongoing, related threat to public safety at this time.

Any witnesses, anyone with information regarding this incident and/or anyone with dash cam video that may have captured the area of 1487 Maple Avenue between 2:40 pm and 3:00 pm are asked to call Halton Police at 905-825-4777 or 905-825-4747 or to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-824-4777 ext. 2415 or ext. 2416.

On Friday February 1, 2019 at 2:55pm Halton Regional Police Service received multiple reports of shot fired in the area of Main Street East and Maple Avenue in Milton.

One victim was located and has since been transported to hospital.

Expect an ongoing heavy police presence in this area. We are asking all members of the public to stay clear of this area.
