Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region

‚ÄčOn November 11, 2019, just after 8:00 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Fairview Street and Appleby Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, John Butchers (38) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On November 13, 2019, just before 3:30 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Nipissing Road and Thompson Road South in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Joao Silva (65) of Etobicoke was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On November 13, 2019, just after 8:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Pilgrims Way and Abbeywood Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Karine Fox (36) of Oakville was charged with operation while impaired.

On November 14, 2019, just before 2:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of North Ridge Trail and Postridge Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Arthur Baumann (58) of Oakville was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On November 15, 2019, just after 12:00 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brant Street and Hazelton Boulevard in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Syed Afroz (45) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On November 15, 2019, just after 12:00 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Dundas Street West and Eighth Line in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Alyssia Lall (30) of Brampton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
