Halton Regional Police are currently investigating a serious personal injury collision on Nipissing Road in Milton. The entire length of Nipissing Road is closed completely between Thompson Road and the Milton Mall (Childs Drive).
Shortly before 3:30 p.m. a serious collision between a cement truck and a car occurred near #810 Nipissing Road. The female driver of the car, believed to be 40 years old, sustained life-threatening injuries and had to be extricated by firefighters. She was then transported by EMS to the General Hospital, Hamilton. Her 15 year old male passenger was treated for his minor injuries at the scene. A police officer injured his hands during the extrication efforts and is being treated at a local hospital. The driver of the cement truck did not appear to be injured.
Due to the serious nature of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit has arrived and is leading the investigation.
Nipissing Road is closed in both directions and will be for several more hours.
Updates to follow.
