The southbound lanes of Trafalgar Road between Burnamthorpe Road and Threshing Mill Boulevard have been closed, as well as the Eastbound lanes of Trafalgar Road between Burnamthorpe Road and Ninth Line, as a result of two motor vehicle collisions that happened less than one minute apart.
At approximately 1:40 pm, two motor vehicles were involved in a head on collision near the intersection of Trafalgar Road and Burnamthorpe Road. As a result of the collision, some motorists stopped their vehicles at the side of the road to avoid driving through the scene. At this time another motorist travelling northbound struck a vehicle that had been pulled over on the east side of the roadway. There is a considerable amount of debris on the road as a result of the two collisions, and road closures have been implemented to ensure the safety of those involved, as well as other members of the public. Fortunately, the preliminary investigation at the scene has not revealed any significant injuries having been sustained by the occupants of the affected vehicles, but paramedics have been called to the scene as a precaution. If you had planned on utilizing any of the roadways that are currently closed, please plan an alternate route.
The investigation is still ongoing and there is no further information available at this time. Updates regarding the road closures and details of the collisions will be provided when available via the Halton Police Twitter account, and through subsequent media releases.
