On Tuesday March 3, 2020 shortly before 12:00 pm, the Halton Regional Police Service received information that a male was breaking in to a residence in Kilbride and stealing property from inside. The male was observed to leave the residence in a vehicle. Police were provided a description of the suspect and vehicle and responded to the area. Police located and observed the suspect vehicle driving in the area of Derry Road and Appleby Line in Milton. The suspect intentionally collided with a marked police cruiser, causing a head-on collision. As a result of the collision, the suspect vehicle went off the roadway and into a ditch. The vehicle became inoperable and the suspect was arrested. No injury was sustained to the officer.
Michael Miller (28) from Milton has been charged with:
-Break and Enter
-Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
-Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident
-Fail to Comply with Probation (two counts)
Miller was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Derry Road was closed in the area of Appleby Line for several hours as police continued the investigation.
