The two victims in yesterday's double homicide in Oakville have been identified as Afheed (Al) Rehmtulla (43) and Kareem Wade (34) (photos are attached here). On behalf of the Halton Regional Police Service, we extend our condolences to the families and friends of the deceased. Both families request their privacy during this difficult time.
Two other victims of the shooting are expected to make a full recovery. We will not be naming these individuals.
At this time, the motive for the shooting remains unknown. It is believed that the shooting was targeted.
This investigation is ongoing. We urge anyone with information about this incident, or the events leading up to this incident, to contact the Homicide Tip Line at 905-825-4776.
Investigators are appealing to members of the public for dash cam or home or business surveillance video from the area of Iroquois Shore Road and Eighth Line, Oakville between midnight and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2020. If you have any video during that timeframe, you are asked to contact the Homicide Tip Line at 905-825-4776.
Investigators are also interested in speaking to the driver of a white sedan that was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. This vehicle is not believed to be involved.

On Saturday May 16, 2020 at approximately 3:10 am, police responded to a call for a shooting in Oakville. Officers attended a commercial business in the area of Iroquois Shore Road and Eighth Line in Oakville.
One male victim was located deceased at the scene by officers. A second victim was pronounced dead in hospital. Two additional victims are currently in hospital.
No arrests have been made and the shooting appears to be targeted.
There is currently a large police in the area while officers conduct their investigation. The public is asked to avoid the area.
