Driving Complaint Leads to Arrest for Impaired Operation and Weapon Offences

​On June 30, 2020 just after 10:00 pm an officer with the Halton Regional Police Service attended the area of Garth Webb Public School to investigate a driving complaint. The vehicle was located a short distance away and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver exited the vehicle and advance​​d on the officer while holding a knife.

The officer ordered the driver to drop the weapon and he complied.

After further investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of additional knives –both inside the pickup truck and concealed on his person. It was also determined that the suspect was impaired by alcohol.

Diego Olivera-Molina (21) of Oakville has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carry a concealed weapon
  • Operation while impaired
  • Blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours
