On Saturday July 11, 2020 at approximately 2:30 pm Halton Regional Police responded to a parking lot in the area of Cornwall Road and Trafalgar Road, Oakville for a disturbance call.
Upon arrival police met with a male victim and numerous witnesses who advised a 34 year old male suspect was crouching down near the victim's vehicle. When the victim, a visible minority asked the suspect what he was doing, the suspect allegedly yelled several racial slurs at the victim and assaulted him.
Upon police arriving on scene the suspect actively resisted an officer prior to being arrested.
The victim incurred minor injuries as a result of the assault.
The arresting officer was uninjured.
A 34 year old Oakville man is charged with:
Assault, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest and Cause Disturbance.
The accused was released from custody with a court date.
