Deputy Chief of Investigative and Frontline Support Services - Jeff Hill
As the Deputy Chief of Investigative and Frontline Support Services for the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), Deputy Chief Jeff Hill is responsible for the following areas of the HRPS:
- Regional Investigative Services, including the Intimate Partner Violence Unit, Frauds, Victim Services Unit, Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit, Intelligence, Forensic Identification, Drugs and Human Trafficking, Computer Crime, and Homicide
- Corporate Services, including Facilities, Finance, Fleet, Purchasing, and Quartermaster Stores
- Support Services, including Court Services, Central Lock-up, Property and Evidence Management, and Frontline Support
- Communications and Records
Biography
Deputy Hill began his career with the HRPS in 1998 after serving with the Toronto Police Service. As a Constable, he proudly served both the Town of Oakville and the City of Burlington. He was also a Coach Officer for several new recruits during this time.
Over the years, Deputy Chief Hill has served in several progressively senior roles, including as a Sergeant in Uniform Patrol in the City of Burlington, as Detective in charge of the Robbery portfolio in the Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau, as Staff Sergeant and Platoon Manager in 2 District, as Staff Officer to the Deputy Chief, as Detective Sergeant, and District Operations Inspector. Prior to being promoted to his current rank, Jeff was the Commander of Human Resources, Emergency Services and Training. Deputy Hill also spearheaded the drive to implement an Organizational Wellness Unit to reduce stigma and increase employee wellness, one of the first units of its kind in the province.
Deputy Chief Hill is a graduate of Seneca College and has continued his education at York University in the area of Human Resources. He is also a graduate of the Police Leadership Program and Executive Leadership Program from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
Jeff was the recipient of the Police Exemplary Service Medal. In 2023, he was invested as a Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces by the Governor General of Canada.
Deputy Chief Hill was appointed to the role of Deputy Chief of Investigative and Frontline Support Services in October 2019.
