ProAction Cops & Kids brings cops and kids together in skill-building and mentoring programs to create trust, respect and safer communities.
ProAction Cops & Kids is a charitable organization established in Toronto in 1991 by business leader John Bitove Sr. who wanted to create an organization that would allow police officers to make a positive and impactful connection with young people. To achieve this, ProAction supports community-based programs developed and delivered by police officers that specifically engage young people.
The ProAction Cops & Kids Halton Chapter was established in 2018. As of 2024, ProAction’s partnership with the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has funded 36 programs that benefit local youth and police. Since our partnership began in 2018, we have provided more than $258,000 in funding to engage over 760 under-resourced youth and officers in healthy skill-building programs.
