On Wednesday February 7, 2024, members of the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) and Halton Hills Fire Department responded to a fire at a residential address on Victoria Street in Georgetown.
Members of the Halton Hills Fire Department removed one occupant from the home who was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. The fire destroyed two semi-detached dwellings.

A man convicted for a 2016 sexual assault in Burlington has been found to be a Dangerous Offender.
On February 12, 2021, 42-year-old Vezio Cardullo, pled guilty to Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Overcome Resistance by Choking, and Uttering Threats. Following his conviction, a Dangerous Offender Application process began, and was finally concluded on Friday, January 26, 2024, finding Cardullo to be a Dangerous Offender.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) launched an investigation after a suspicious package was found at the Bronte GO Station in Oakville.
On February 6, 2024, at approximately 5:30 am, police were called to the station after a witness observed the package on a platform near the tracks.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested and charged a man in relation to a vehicle theft and attempted carjacking.
In the early morning hours of February 1, 2024, an HRPS officer attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle in in Halton Hills which had later been identified as a stolen vehicle from Georgetown. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges in connection to a series of break and enter crimes in Oakville.
Between January 5 and January 13, 2024, there were 14 early evening break and enters to residential homes in southeast Oakville.
The suspects primarily targeted luxury homes between the hours of 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Suspects gained entry by smashing the rear patio glass doors and stole jewelry, cash and other valuables.
