Woman Charged After Kicking Dog And Punching Good Samaritan



On the evening of Monday, February 5th,  several citizens in the area of Lakeshore Road West/Nelson Street in Oakville observed an adult female forcefully kicking a dog  in the chest and stomach. The dog was on a leash, and not acting aggressively. The citizens intervened on behalf of the animal, and the female punched one of the good Samaritans in the face with a closed fist. The police were called, and after investigating the incident the female was arrested, and her dog transferred into the care of a relative. Stephanie Moore (50 years old) of Oakville was released from custody after being charged criminally with Assault and Causing Unnecessary Suffering to an Animal, and receiving a Provincial Offence Notice for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
