Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region



On June 8, 2018 shortly before 7:30 pm, Halton Police were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative near the intersection of Kingsway Drive and Plains Road East in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, William Kemp (63), of Burlington was charged with driving over 80 mgs.

On June 9, 2018 shortly after 1:00 am, Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative near North Shore Boulevard East and the Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Michael Hall (55), of Hamilton was charged with driving over 80 mgs.

On June 9, 2018 shortly after 11:00 pm, Halton Police officers were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative near the intersection of Marine Drive and Jones Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Alan Johnston (65), of Oakville, was charged with driving over 80 mgs.

On June 9, 2018 shortly after 11:30 pm, Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative near the intersection of Plains Road West and Spring Gardens Rd. in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Jason McMeekan (45), of Hamilton was charged with driving while ability impaired.

On June 10, 2018 shortly before 11:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint near Guelph Line and Fairview Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Kyle Murray (23), of Hamilton, was charged with driving while ability impaired and driving over 80 mgs.

On June 10, 2018 shortly after 11:30 pm, Halton Police officers were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative near Marlborough Court and Trafalgar Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Brandon Trtanj (41), of Oakville, was charged with driving over 80 mgs.

On June 11, 2018 shortly before 4:30 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint near Appleby Line and Britannia Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Scott Fraser (28), of Guelph, was charged with driving over 80 mgs and care/control while impaired.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.

The Service’s Twitter and Facebook accounts should not be used for this purpose as they are not monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
