Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region

​On February 20, 2019, just after 5:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Hannibal Road and Quebec Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Shane Beckman (31) of Burlington was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 20, 2019, just before 10:00 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main Street East and Fulton Street in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Daniel Kranstz (31) of Burlington was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 20, 2019, just before 10:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Townsend Avenue and Eagle Drive in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Gabrielle Matray (48) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 21, 2019, just before 10:30 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Laurier Avenue and Cedar Hedge Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Ewa Szlezak (47) of Kitchener was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 21, 2019, just before 4:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Bronte Street South and Louis Saint Laurent Avenue in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Fred Plummer (71) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 22, 2019, just after 2:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Woodward Avenue and Wilson Drive in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Michael Hughes (41) of Milton was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 22, 2019, just after 5:30 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Prospect Street and Dynes Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Justin Mann (29) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 22, 2019, just before 9:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Brant Street and Caroline Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Calogero Alongi (57) of Kitchener was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 22, 2019 just after 11:00 pm, Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Dorval Drive and North Service Road West in Oakville. As a result of this initiative, Shona Mclaren (49) of Oakville was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 23, 2019, just before 2:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mill Street and Martin Street in Milton. As a result of an investigation, John Kronschnabl (40) of Mississauga was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 23, 2019, just after 5:00 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Upper Middle Road and Appleby Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Harjot Gill (21) of Brampton was charged with fail or refuse to provide sample.

On February 24, 2019 just after 2:30 am, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Potts Terrace and Savoline Boulevard in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Ashmir Ali (63) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On February 24, 2019 just before 6:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Laurier Avenue and Woodlawn Crescent in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Mark Fairbairn (29) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
