Police Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Male Associated With Thefts from Vehicles in Oakville

The Halton Regional Police Service is seeking assistance from the public to help identify a male responsible for breaking into vehicles in the area of Maple Grove Drive and Lakeshore Road in the east end of Oakville.

On March 17, 2019, three vehicles were targeted by the suspect who was caught on CCTV footage fleeing the area on a bicycle.

That male, dubbed the "Bicycle Bandit", is thought to be responsible for vehicle entries that occurred in the fall of 2018 in the same residential area. In each case, the entries occurred to unlocked vehicles between 5:30 am and 6:30 am.

The male suspect is believed to be in his late teens or early 20's. Please see attached photo of the suspect.

Police would like to remind the public to remove all valuable items from their vehicles and lock their vehicle doors when unattended.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact Detective Ron Wright of the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747 ext. 2284.
