Single vehicle collision Highway 7 and 22 Side Road

The Halton Regional Police is currently at the scene of a single car collision near the intersection of 22 Side Road and Highway 7/Trafalgar Road in Georgetown.

At approximately 5:50 p.pm a single motor vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, severing the car in half and causing significant damage to the pole. Emergency crews have responded with the Halton Hills Fire Department extricating the sole male occupant from the vehicle. The driver of the car has been transported by ambulance to hospital with undetermined injuries. The utility pole is precariously at an angle, with wires 2-3 meters off the ground.

As a result of the collision Highway 7/Trafalgar Road is closed between 22 Side Road and the Highway 7 and Trafalgar Road split. It is expected to remain closed for several hours.  The OPP and Halton Police are both on scene and managing the scene. Update to be provided as the investigation continues. ​
