Mississauga Man arrested for Robbery

​Members of the Halton Regional Police Service - Oakville Criminal Investigations have charged a male in connection with the robbery of a taxi driver.

On the July 15, 2019, Halton police officers responded to the robbery of an out town taxi driver.  The driver got into a dispute with a passenger in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and South Sheridan Way in the Town of Oakville.

The passenger pointed a firearm at the driver before fleeing on foot.  While fleeing, he discarded his bag containing a replica firearm.

Enrique Thonson (22) of Mississauga was located in the area and arrested.

Thonson has been charged with:

-robbery with a firearm

-pointing a firearm

He was held for a bail hearing which took place on July 16, 2019.

The taxi driver did not suffer any physical injuries during the incident.
