On Wednesday April 19th, 2017 Halton Regional Police responded to a serious personal injury collision on Dundas Street, east of Post Road in the Town of Oakville.
At approximately 6:30pm, a 39-year-old male pedestrian entered Dundas Street in a northerly direction when he was struck by an eastbound transport truck driven by a 32-year-old male driver. The pedestrian is a resident from the Town of Oakville and the driver is a resident of the City of Brampton.
The pedestrian was transported to Hamilton General Hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the transport truck was not injured in the collision.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and took carriage of the investigation. Dundas Street was closed eastbound for approximately 5.5 hours for the collision investigation.
Speed and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factor in the collision.
