The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and charged a Burlington man following an investigation at Burlington City Hall.

On November 26, 2025, at approximately 1:15 PM a City of Burlington staff member received a telephone call from an upset male, during which the male made threats of physical harm towards City of Burlington employees.

HRPS officers responded to Burlington City Hall and began an investigation into the incident. As a precaution City Hall was closed and employees sent home while the investigation was undertaken.

As a result of the investigation, at approximately 8:15 pm, a 37 year old male resident of Burlington was charged with one count of Utter Threats to Cause Death.

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
