As students across Halton return to school this week, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is launching its 18th annual Project Safe Start campaign, aimed at reminding motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians to follow the rules of the road and be extra cautious.

Joint Investigation Leads to Arrest of Burlington Man

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) has arrested and charged a Burlington man following a joint investigation with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police National Child Exploitation Centre (RCMP, NCECC) and authorities in the Philippines that began in April, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, on August 28, 2025, Douglas RIDPATH (78) of Burlington was arrested and charged with the following:
- Make Child Pornography (6 Counts)
- Accessing Child Pornography
