The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made four arrests and laid multiple charges following a targeted shooting in Burlington.

On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., the victim was operating a vehicle with three passengers along the rear driveway of the Food Basics, located at 5353 Lakeshore Road in Burlington. The victim observed three masked males standing behind the store. As the victim’s vehicle passed, a loud bang was heard and the passenger-side window shattered. Investigators have determined that one of the masked individuals discharged a firearm at the vehicle in what is believed to be a targeted shooting. The suspects then ran to a waiting vehicle and fled the area.

The victim sustained minor facial injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. The remaining vehicle occupants were not physically injured. The incident was later reported to police, and the investigation was assumed by the Major Crime Bureau.

A comprehensive investigation was undertaken, resulting in the execution of multiple search warrants at four separate addresses in Burlington. As a result, four individuals have been arrested and charged.  Investigators have also recovered the firearm believed to have been used during the offence.

The following people have been charged:

Ozan Dickson (male, 20) of Burlington:

  • Attempted murder
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Aggravated assault
  • Careless use of firearm

Ahmed Abrahimzada (male, 19) of Burlington:

  • Attempted murder
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Aggravated assault

Shehabeldin Adam (male, 18) of Burlington:

  • Attempted murder
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Aggravated assault
  • Discharge firearm with intent

A 16-year-old male from Burlington, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act:

  • Attempted murder
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Aggravated assault
  • Fail to comply with undertaking

All accused are currently held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
