PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY: Sexual Assault in Georgetown

 The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a male suspect involved in a sexual assault in Georgetown.

 On June 20, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a group of youths were walking near 135 Maple Avenue in the area of Dominion Gardens Park. They were approached by an unknown adult male who engaged them in conversation. While interacting, the male distanced himself from the group alongside one of the female youths and subsequently sexually assaulted her. He then fled the scene on foot, heading east toward Christ the King Catholic Secondary School

 The suspect is described as:

 Male, South Asian, aged 20-25 years old, thin build, black hair Indian accent, approximately 5’6- 5’9, thick, scruffy beard, black pants, black t-shirt, white shoes.

 The HRPS is requesting area residents to remain vigilant as this incident is investigated and to immediately report any suspicious activities or persons to police.

 Anyone with information regarding this investigation, including any security or dash cam video from the area between the hours of 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm, is asked to contact investigators with the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777, Ext 8970.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated.  A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault.  This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
