The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a sexual assault that took place on the Sixteen Mile Creek Heritage Trail near Skyvalley Crescent in Oakville.

On June 4, at approximately 5:30 pm the adult female victim was walking the trail system alone when she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male suspect.

The victim was approached from behind by the suspect who was riding a bike. The male grabbed the female in a sexual manner before fleeing on his bike. The female was not physically injured during the assault.  

The suspect is described as a white male approx. 40-50 years old. He had no facial hair, a wide nose and a stocky or muscular build. He was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and a bike helmet.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated.  A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault.  This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
