On August 22nd, 2025, the Halton Regional Police Service was advised that the cyclist involved in this collision from August 19th in Oakville, did not survive his injuries, and died in hospital. The investigation remains with the Collision Reconstruction Unit.

***Original Release***
At approximately 11:49am on August 19th, 2025, the Halton Regional Police Service was notified of a serious collision involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist on Rebecca St just east of Third Line in the Town of Oakville. The initial investigation indicates that the 67 year old male cyclist from Burlington was westbound on Rebecca St when an eastbound hatchback driven by a 57 year old woman from Oakville attempted to turn left to enter the parking lot of the South Oakville Centre formerly known as Hopedale Mall. The degree of contact between the cyclist and vehicle is under investigation, he was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition. The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
