The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) launched an investigation after a suspicious package was found at the Bronte GO Station in Oakville.

On February 6, 2024, at approximately 5:30 am, police were called to the station after a witness observed the package on a platform near the tracks.

Police worked with representatives from Metrolinx and an area of the Go Station was cordoned off while the HRPS Explosive Disposal Unit investigated the nature of the parcel. The station was reopened by police at approximately 10:20 am after it was determined that the suspicious package was not explosive. Train services were impacted for approximately 5 hours.

Police are continuing their investigation into how the package came to be at the station and whether or not it was intentionally crafted to resemble an explosive device.
