Investigation by the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau leads to the arrest of an auto theft suspect.

 

On January 10 2024, at approximately 1:00am the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) received a 911 call for a high-end vehicle theft in progress in the area of Appleby Line and New Street, Burlington. Upon police arrival, two suspects were observed fleeing on foot. HRPS officers searched the area, however the suspects escaped custody with the investigation continued by the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau.

On March 6 2024, the HRPS executed a criminal code search warrant at a Mississauga residence where investigators seized vehicle break and enter tools, and vehicle master keys, as well as a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

 

As a result of the investigation Arshmit Peter (22), of Mississauga has been charged with the following:

1)      Theft of a Motor Vehicle

2)      Possession of Break and Enter Tools

3)      Possession of Vehicle Master Keys

4)      Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

 

Peter was released from police custody and is to appear at Milton court on March 27 2024.
