In the early afternoon hours of Friday May 10th, Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) were conducting an investigation at a hotel in the area of the South Service Road and Walkers Line in Burlington and located a vehicle associated to a wanted male, 41-year-old Tom Shade.

Shade is currently wanted for the charges of Dangerous Drive, Flight from Police and Fail to Remain at Scene of a Collision. HRPS officers attempted to arrest Shade; however, he fled the scene on foot.

While searching for Shade, officers located a loaded firearm, drugs, and other discarded property, and a warning was issued to residents via social media. Numerous members of the public contacted police with potential sightings and an extensive search was undertaken by the HRPS. This search included patrol and tactical officers as well as the K9 unit; however, at this time, Shade remains outstanding.

Residents can expect a continued police presence in the areas of southern Burlington between Guelph Line and Walkers Line as officers continue the investigation.

Police would like to remind residents that Shade should be considered dangerous and if seen, do not approach him. Contact police by calling 911.
