Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.

Communications for emergency and major incidents

Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.

The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

Hours of availability are Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

Attempt Robbery in Oakville

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a robbery attempt at a pharmacy in Oakville.

On Monday March 28, 2022, just after 5:00 pm three suspects entered the Oakville Town Centre Pharmacy located at 300 North Service Road West and attempted to surround an employee behind the pharmacy counter.

The employee was able to escape and the suspects fled the scene in a black Jeep Wrangler parked in front of the pharmacy. The suspects did not obtain any items and no weapons were seen or referenced...

Police Investigating Pair of Robberies in Oakville

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating two robberies that took place on March 24, 2022, in Oakville.

The first occurred at approximately 5:30 pm at the Freedom Mobile retail location on Oak Walk Drive.  Three suspects, including one armed with a firearm (handgun), entered the store and demanded cell phones and cash. One suspect also struck an employee with the gun.

Staggering Number of Tow Trucks Placed Out of Service During Enforcement Campaign

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has completed its annual “Towbruary” Tow Enforcement Campaign, and the results were staggering.

Throughout the month of February, the HRPS Traffic Services Unit and our District Response Units conducted a number of tow truck inspection blitzes across Halton. A joint inspection blitz was also carried out with Hamilton Police Service on the border of the two jurisdictions. These enforcement activities resulted in the following:

Missing Person in Burlington – Heather Stoodley

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 19 year-old Heather Stoodley.

Investigators believe that Heather is travelling with her father, Jeffrey Stoodley, and they may have relocated to the Sudbury area. Police have been unable to make contact with them and confirm their location.

They were last seen in October of 2021 in the area of Meadowbrook Road in Burlington.
