Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.
Communications for emergency and major incidents
Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.
The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

Rash of Attempted Thefts from Vehicles in Burlington

Investigators have obtained CCTV footage of a suspect believed to be involved in attempted thefts from vehicles on March 27, 2022. The suspect attended several gas stations in Burlington on March 27, and used bank cards stolen during one of the incidents.
The suspect is described as (see attached photo):

Investigators from the Halton Regional Police Service - 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau and Toronto Police Major Crime were involved in a month long multi-jurisdictional investigation dubbed “Project Raptor” resulting in the recovery of 20 stolen vehicles worth over $1.5 million. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest in relation to two attempted robberies that occurred in Burlington. On March 30, 2022, at approximately 9:30 am, a female suspect attended the drive-thru of the Wendy’s located at 2387 Fairview Street in Burlington. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is advising that the suspects and stolen Audi RS7 are still outstanding and that no arrests have been made at this time. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a robbery attempt at a pharmacy in Oakville.
On Monday March 28, 2022, just after 5:00 pm three suspects entered the Oakville Town Centre Pharmacy located at 300 North Service Road West and attempted to surround an employee behind the pharmacy counter.
