Media Releases

Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.

Communications for emergency and major incidents

Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.

The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

Hours of availability are Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

For after hours requests, please contact the on-duty Staff Sergeant for each district.

Two Suspects Sought in Milton Home Invasion

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is searching for two suspects after a home invasion in Milton.

On April 4, 2025, at 4:05 a.m. two suspects, one armed with a hammer, forced entry through the front door of a residence in the area of Wilson Drive and Joyce Boulevard.

The suspects confronted an adult male resident of the home demanding the keys to his vehicles. A brief physical struggle ensued for control of the hammer before both suspects fled the residence on foot.

Hindu Temple Vandalized in Halton Hills

UPDATE:

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) have identified two suspects being sought for vandalizing a sign located at the Sri Krishna Brundavana Temple in Georgetown.

On April 5, 2025, each suspect turned themselves in to HRPS officers.

As a result of the investigation:

 Matthew Maciejko (24), of Halton Hills has been charged with:

  • Mischief – Under $5000

Nathan Pobgee (25), of Halton Hills has been charged with:

  • Mischief – Under $5000

Missing person - Anna Ismambetova

Anna has been safely located.  The Halton Regional Police Service would like to thank the media and the community for their assistance in this investigation.  We would ask that all media outlets remove any photographs of Anna at this time.

Arrest Made in Sexual Assault Investigation

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has charged an Oakville man with Sexual Assault.

On March 23, 2025, at 2:30 a.m. an Uber driver operating a Black Toyota Camry picked up an adult female in the area of Pearl Street and James Street in Burlington. Upon arrival at the requested destination, the driver sexually assaulted the female inside the vehicle.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

Subsequent investigation led to the identification of the accused.

Police Are Searching For Four Suspects In Oakville Bell Store Robbery

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is searching for four suspects after a robbery at Oakville Place Mall.

On March 28, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m. four suspects entered the Bell Store located within Oakville Place Mall and confronted two adult male employees. The suspects forced one employee to the rear of the store but were unable to gain access to a locked storage area. The suspects stole two cell phones as they exited the store and fled on foot to a waiting vehicle.
