Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.
Communications for emergency and major incidents
Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.
The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a suspicious fire in Burlington.
On August 11, 2022, at approximately 9:30 pm police and Burlington Fire were called to a commercial property on Sumach Drive. At the time of police arrival, several motorhomes (RVs) parked at the property were found to be on fire.
Burlington Fire were able to extinguish the flames quickly and no physical injuries were sustained as a result of the fire however damage is estimated to be in excess of $500, 000.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance is locating a missing Oakville woman.
Kaitlyn Simmonds (27) of Oakville was last seen on foot on June 29, 2022 in the area of South Service Road and Casablanca Boulevard in Grimsby.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is issuing a warning to residents about a home repair fraud believed to be operating in the region.
Police believe these suspects may be intentionally targeting older adults.

On August 6, 2022 at approximately 3:09pm Halton Regional Police attended the area of Waterdown Road and Craven Avenue in the City of Burlington for a motor vehicle collision. A motorcycle travelling southbound on Waterdown Road struck a northbound Honda SUV. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
