Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.
Communications for emergency and major incidents
Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.
The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has laid multiple charges after the arrest of a fraudster who targeted new Canadians.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made a pair of arrests in relation to a robbery that took place at the Mapleview Shopping Centre in Burlington.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest after a pair of robberies arranged through Facebook Marketplace.
The first robbery took place on May 4, 2025. The victim arranged to purchase a cell phone and met the seller in the area of Stevens Crescent in Georgetown. While the victim was looking at the phone the suspect pulled out a handgun and robbed the victim of their cash.
