Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.

Communications for emergency and major incidents

Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.

The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

Hours of availability are Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Hateful Vandalism Investigation

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating hateful and racist vandalism left on two occasions on a fence in the town of Oakville.

On October 22, 2022, police were notified of the graffiti spray-painted to a wood fence on the northwest corner of East Gate Crescent. The messages included a racist slur and a swastika. The messages have since been removed and are no longer on the fence.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Oakville - October 22

On Saturday October 22, 2022 at 1:00 am, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Trafalgar Road and Iroquois Shore Road in the town of Oakville.  The collision occurred between a northbound motorcycle on Trafalgar Road, and a southbound automobile attempting to turn left onto Iroquois Shore Road.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a robbery that took place at Mapleview Shopping Centre in Burlington.

On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at approximately 4:20 p.m. an older adult female victim was followed out of the mall by a male suspect after purchasing a laptop computer at the Apple Store.
