On June 28, 2023, the suspect was stopped by police for operating a motorcycle without licence plates. Further investigation revealed that suspect was driving a stolen motorcycle and is believed to be associated to auto thefts. When asked to produce a drivers licence and insurance, the suspect fled on foot and was last seen heading south bound towards a fenced area behind the building located at 2630 Royal Windsor Dr, Mississauga.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges in relation to a stabbing investigation in Milton.
In the early morning hours of July 2, 2023, HPRS officers attended the Ivy Arms on Main Street in Milton for reports of a stabbing outside of the restaurant. A victim was stabbed by an unknown suspect during an altercation and received non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

SIU Invokes Mandate Following Incident in Burlington

In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 8th, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to an apartment building on Ghent Avenue in the City of Burlington for reports of a male with a firearm.
As a result of the investigation by HRPS officers at the scene, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was contacted and has since invoked its mandate.

***UPDATE*** Auto Theft Prevention Campaign Expands

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is pleased to announce the expansion of an existing a program to help combat auto thefts in the region of Halton.
Project Oxygen began in May (2023) and encourages residents to place third-party trackers (such as an Apple Air Tag, Tile, Galaxy Smart Tag or Atuvos) inside their vehicles. This program initially started with the participation of six dealerships in Oakville (see details provided in initial release below) installing the trackers for residents.

Police have made an arrest in relation to a shooting investigation in Burlington. In the early morning hours of June 24, 2023 police responded to a shooting in the parking lot of the Port House restaurant in the area of Lakeshore Road and John Street.
Two victims suffered gunshot injuries and were transported to hospital.
