The Halton Regional Police Service is currently investigating a suspicious fire at a Burlington business.
On February 28, 2024, at approximately 12:30am, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) attended the parking lot behind Burlington Bowl, located at 4065 Harvester Road, Burlington, regarding a reported truck fire. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges in relation to a sexual assault that occurred at Oakville Place mall.
On Monday, February 12, 2024, Paul Swanson (62) of Brampton was arrested. He has been charged with the following:
- Committing an Indecent Act;
- Sexual Assault (2 counts);
- Sexual Interference (2 counts);
- Failing to Comply with Probation.

Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officers have seized a handgun gun and counterfeit cash after a traffic stop in Oakville.
On January 31, 2024, at approx. 2:30 am HRPS officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street West and Proudfoot Trail in Oakville. Investigation at the scene determined the driver of the vehicle to a prohibited driver and in breach of a court order.
