This year, Halton Regional Police Service officers have already responded to 150 suspected overdoses involving either illicit substances, prescription drugs and/or over-the-counter medications. Of those, 18 people did not survive. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is pleased to announce it has been awarded $1.2 million in funding through the Ministry of the Solicitor General’s Community Safety and Policing Grant. Shooting in Oakville - April 26, 2022

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a shooting in the town of Oakville. On April 26, 2022, at approximately 10:20 pm officers responded to the area of Dundas Street West and Hampshire Gate for reports of a single gunshot.
Police located one male victim near the McDonalds restaurant in the area with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The victim’s injuries indicate the weapon may have been a pellet gun.

Spike in Catalytic Converter Thefts in Milton & Halton Hills

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) would like to advise residents of an observed spike in catalytic converter thefts.
This trend is being observed across North America however in Halton there has been a particularly large amount of thefts in Milton and Halton Hills. Between March 1 and April 12, 2022, 29 catalytic converters were stolen in 1 District (Milton and Halton Hills).

Robbery Investigation in Burlington

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating a robbery that took place at the Burlington Mall (located at 777 Guelph Line).
On April 6, 2022, at approximately 8:00 pm, three suspects entered the Rogers Wireless retail location inside the Burlington Mall and demanded cell phones while one suspect displayed a Conducted Energy Weapon (commonly referred to as a Taser).
