**UPDATE*** Police Seeking to Contact Individual Seen in Area of Georgetown Fire

The Halton Regional Police Service has confirmed the identities of the two deceased found at the scene of a Georgetown residential fire that occurred on February 17, 2021. They have been identified as the homeowners, 56-year-old Krystyna (Emilia) Rerak, and her 59-year-old husband Andrzej (Andrew) Rerak.

Investigators would like to speak with the occupant of a vehicle that was observed in the area of Orchid Avenue, Robinson Road and Danby Road in Georgetown between 4:30 am and 6:00 am on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. The vehicle is described as a newer model, white, mid-sized SUV. The vehicle may have driven past responding emergency vehicles while in the area. As a result of ongoing post-mortem examinations at the Centre of Forensic Sciences, the deaths of two individuals located at the scene of a residential house fire in Georgetown are now deemed suspicious.
 
Homicide detectives have assumed the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
 
The identities of the victims (one male, one female) have not yet been confirmed, but they are believed to be the occupants of the residence.

On February 17, 2021 at approximately 5:35 am, the Halton Regional Police Service responded to a residence on Hidden Lake Trail in Georgetown for a fire.  Upon police arrival, the home was fully engulfed in flames.   Tragically, two deceased persons have been located inside the home.  The Ontario Fire Marshall has been contacted to assist with the investigation.

The fire has been extinguished by Halton Hills Fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation and has yet to be determined.  Hidden Lake Trail remains closed at this time for the investigation.

The Halton Regional Police Service would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends during this difficult time.
