The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is committed to communicating openly with the residents of the Halton Region.

Your Community. Our Service.

It is important that our community understands the rationale, principles, structures, and parameters that guide our operations as a police service. This includes how we apply best practices to recruit talent, the breadth of training provided to our sworn and civilian members, how we hold ourselves accountable, what our governance structure looks like, and how community safety and well-being is threaded through everything we do, every day.

We want our residents to know that the activities we undertake are carefully considered at all times and are informed by a deep commitment to strengthening public safety in partnership with the communities that we serve.

We have bundled this information in one convenient document:

Halton Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan

The Halton CSWB Plan guides how the Halton Regional Police Service, Halton Region and our partners work together to proactively respond to issues in our community. Issues such as mental health, housing and homelessness, and social isolation impact people in our community every day. We want to ensure those in need of help receive the right response, at the right time, from the right resources—before there is a crisis.

Embracing Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at the HRPS

Integrating the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) throughout the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) emphasizes the importance of creating a workforce that reflects the community we serve and is sensitive to the needs of our diverse region.

Our commitment to meeting the needs of our members and external community is what drives us in the development of our EDI strategy to ensure it is not only effective but sustainable.
