Kevin Maher was sworn in as the Halton Regional Police Service's (HRPS) new Deputy Chief of Police at a ceremony at the Atrium Banquet and Conference Centre in Burlington on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
The formal swearing-in ceremony was attended by the Halton Police Board, MPs, MPPs, community leaders, faith leaders, local and regional councillors, HRPS Senior Commanders, and a number of uniformed and civilian members of the Service.

The Halton Regional Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who exposed himself to members of the public inside the Georgetown Marketplace.
On April 16, 2024, between 5:00pm and 5:30pm, and unknown male was inside the Winners store at the Georgetown Marketplace where he was observed exposing his genitals to multiple members of the public as well as staff. Staff escorted the male out of the store and police were later contacted.

Personal Support Worker Facing Charges after Assault in Oakville

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges against a personal support worker.
The investigation began earlier this month after police were contacted by members of the victim’s family. The victim in this investigation is a youth and the assault’s took place over the past few weeks at the victim’s home while they were in the care of the accused.
